Editing Steam Wing

WhatlinkshereWith limitations of lift capacity for aeronefs, and speed and manœuvrability for dirigibles, alternative solutions have been sought for rapid transport of heavy loads. Although still an expensive solution, for some purposes the steam wing is the solution sought.

Steam wings combine technologies to achieve both lift capacity and speed. For initial lift, and soft descent, they employ the principles of the aeronef, but in travel augment this with the lift generated by wings in close proximity to the surface. Steam wings can be large in size and carry - at speed - more than other aerial technologies, but may be constrained by uneven terrain or tempestuous weather.
